Vernissage on Saturday 17 of may 2008 at 05,30 p.m. at Seminario’s Theatre

The works will stay on place where built during all summer time. It will be fascinating pay attention to the Nature’s artistic work, opposite to the Artist’s work: that is the “going back “ of materials to the Nature. The peculiarity of this meeting are the choice of the materials – added to the big different internationality of Artists - : they will be absolutely natural and found on place: Artists borrow the necessary materials from the Nature, playing with them building their works, and giving them back to the Nature, so the Nature can go on working, on them starting in the same moment that the Artist has finished to play with.

The work-planning: from Monday 12 of may till Friday 16 from 09,00 o’ clock a.m. to 05.30 o’ clock p.m.

Saturday end of the works at 12.00 o’ clock, and in the late evening the vernissage of the outdoor gallery exhibition. Everybody can reach and contact  the artists in their own working place .

The documentation of all the work in progress will be produced by the photography and film students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice under direction of prof. Guido Cecere. It shall be produced a DVD and a catalogue of the works.

Artistic and scientific collaboration come from Vincenzo Sponga and Gabriele Meneguzzi, two interesting Italian land artists working together since 1974, and using woods, river beds and very unusual places where to find natural materials to build their own special way to make art. They took part to many national and international land art meeting, exhibitions, contests,  workshops and also readers to various Universities conventions.

They won 1st  price at 2006 Biennale Land art in Lugano, 1st  price Grindelwald Land art Festival on 2000, 2004, 2007, and more others during their artistic career.

Gabriele Meneguzzi is the explorer of the Nature, searching for colours, forms, materials, perfumes, discovering the beauties from which to start a progressing transformation.

Vincenzo Sponga loves to have new and different  materials to transform them in a new and technical  perfect artistic way to produce new and always more different art-works.

Both they have the same poetic philosophy about Nature and Life, so that’s why  their works always produce surprising beauties, and big emotions.

What is Land art, for those who don’t know it,  it is a special kind of art that was born in USA  during years sixties, because the artists needed to go out of galleries using space, Nature, and landscapes to build their works. The “line made by walking” of Richard Long is considered the starting of the new outside Art. It is a new way to made Art,  playing directly with the place where to build the work together with the Nature. The Artist have no the physically possession of the work, because each work is made for that special place and with natural materials, that , of course, the Nature will recover by the time. So a Land art work can be ordered, projected  and built everywhere (hearth, space, water, wood etc..), but shall not be eternal. The end of the work can be forecast and programmed by the artist knowing perfectly the botanic transformation of the materials used. All the above wrote is referred to the totally natural way to make Land art, of course, not using different materials as wire, cement, etc…So the pure naturalistic Land Art put in evidence the harmony between the Nature and the Man, remembering the men always to respect the Nature.

The Artists have been chosen because of their poetic and naturalistic way to play their own Art, from very different Countries, and because of their very different Art provenience (pure hearth works, architecture, painting, botanic, landscape, etc…), so very different sensibilities and points of view will have the possibility to stay together on the same space, working and developing very different projects.
